Our French summer courses for beginner children aged 6–11 are designed for children who are discovering French for the first time. Lessons introduce the language in a lively, playful and age-appropriate way, helping children learn their first words and expressions while gradually building their confidence in French.

Children learn in a friendly small-group environment where they can participate, play, communicate and make new friends. For some children, the course is also an opportunity to discover French before starting it at school or to get a head start before the new academic year.

Course description

Class activities are adapted to ages and abilities. These are morning courses from 9am to 12:15pm.
Our study programme is progressive, varied and consists of:

Small
groups

Classes are limited to a maximum of 10 students, giving teachers time to encourage each child to participate and progress at their own pace.

Learning
activities

French is introduced through engaging, playful activities that encourage children to understand and use the language naturally.

Academic
sessions

Vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, reading, writing, storytelling, poems, board games, songbooks, activity sheets, etc.

Playful
sessions

Role-plays, mimes and TPR*, songs, drama, linguistic board games, popular and lively games, crafts, team project and more.

Total Physical Response* pairs vocabulary and physical movements/gestures. This method helps memorizing new words and building sentences. Children love being on the move and love this method!

Optional afternoon lessons

1:1 Lessons
We offer one-to-one lessons, where students can benefit from private tutoring. During these courses, we focus on your child’s individual requirements, which can include exam preparation, conversation or any area of the language. More info

Intensive French courses
Our intensive French classes are small group designed to help students develop their written and spoken communicative skills. Students will receive 10 hours of intensive courses each week with a class size of maximum of 6 students. More info

Courses Schedule

Morning courses – 20 lessons/week : from 9 am to 12.15 pm
Intensive courses – 30 lessons/week : from 1.15 pm to 2.45 pm
Afternoon courses – 10 lessons/week : from 1.15 pm to 2.45 pm

Each Friday, parents are invited to a performance presented by children and their teachers.

First day & last day during French courses for beginner children

First day:
Complete beginners do not need to take a French level test. Our teachers welcome the children and help them settle into their group at the beginning of the course.

Last day:
At the end of their course, children receive a certificate of participation.

Every Friday, parents are invited to attend a short presentation by the children, which may include songs, drama, poetry or dialogues in French.
