Homestay Program with French host family in Summer

Family stay while studying French in France in summer

Staying with a French host family in Cannes gives students the opportunity to experience everyday life in France, discover the local culture and continue using French outside the classroom.

More than simply a place to stay, a homestay offers a different perspective on French life and culture. Sharing daily life with local people can also help students become more familiar with everyday French and the expressions they hear in real-life situations.

Practical information about Homestay Program with a French host family

Homestay for students aged 16-18

Students aged 16 and 17 may stay with a French host family without their parents, subject to availability. A parental permission form allowing them to go out independently, as well as a responsibility form, must be completed before the programme begins.

Host family accommodation does not include 24-hour supervision. Travel between the school and the host family, as well as the student’s free time, is unsupervised.

Students must return to their host family for dinner and respect the household rules. The usual curfew is 10 p.m. Going out until midnight may exceptionally be permitted with prior parental consent.

Arrival & departure

For summer 2027, host family accommodation is available from Sunday 13 June to Saturday 31 July. Students normally arrive on the Sunday before their first week of classes and leave on the Saturday after their final week.

What is it like to stay with a host family?

Each host family and home is different. Staying with a local family gives students the opportunity to experience everyday French life and discover Cannes from a more personal perspective. Students should remember that a homestay is different from a hotel: they are welcomed into someone’s home and are expected to respect the family’s routines and house rules.
