Make the most of your stay in Cannes and discover the French Riviera, with optional activities and excursions offered alongside your French courses.

Learn French and Enjoy Cannes

French lessons are at the heart of the French Summer Classes programme. But a stay in Cannes is also an opportunity to enjoy the Mediterranean and discover the French Riviera.

On selected dates during the summer, we offer optional activities and excursions alongside the French courses. Students are free to organise their programme according to their interests: attend afternoon French lessons, join an activity when one is offered, or use their free time to explore Cannes and the surrounding area.

Activities are not included in the course fees and some are available at an additional cost.

Discover the Lérins Islands

Just off the coast of Cannes, the Lérins Islands offer a wonderful opportunity to discover another side of the French Riviera.

During the summer, French Summer Classes may offer excursions to Sainte-Marguerite Island or Saint-Honorat Island. Both are easily reached by boat from Cannes and offer Mediterranean scenery as well as an opportunity to discover the islands’ natural and cultural heritage.

These excursions are optional and offered on selected dates during the season. Practical information and prices are provided to the students concerned.

Relaxed Moments Together in Cannes

French Summer Classes also organises occasional informal get-togethers, giving students, families and members of the team an opportunity to spend time together outside the classroom.

Our beach picnics are one of these summer get-togethers: a simple and relaxed way to enjoy an evening together by the Mediterranean.

Other little moments together may also be part of the week at school.

Discover Cannes & French Riviera

After class, students and families have free time to discover Cannes and the French Riviera at their own pace.

Beaches, markets, Le Suquet and the Lérins Islands offer plenty to explore nearby. Cannes is also an excellent base for discovering other destinations along the French Riviera, including Antibes, Nice, Grasse, Saint-Paul-de-Vence and Monaco.

These visits are organised independently by students and families and are not supervised activities organised by French Summer Classes.

Activities with Children: Children taking part in an activity or excursion must be accompanied throughout by a parent or another responsible adult. The presence of a teacher or member of the French Summer Classes team does not replace this responsible adult.

Make the Most of Your Summer in Cannes

Attend French lessons in the morning, choose an intensive programme with additional afternoon lessons, or join the optional activities that interest you when they are offered.

This gives you time to improve your French while also enjoying Cannes and the French Riviera.
