marineland

15 min by train from Cannes is Marineland which provides a real fun-filled family day out. You can meet the killer whales, dolphins, sea lions, birds of prey, and penguins–all performing acts with their keepers. There are several attractions within Marineland like the 30-meter long shark tunnel where you can be surrounded by 3 different types of sharks and stingrays. Open daily in the summer time. grasse

Grasse is the perfume capital, not just of France, but the world. A 15-minute drive from Cannes, the town of Grasse is situated in the foothills of the Alps. Grasse is a medieval town, which boasts many quaint alleyways and ancient buildings. Here, some of the original perfume makers still operate from the same buildings they started in. All the perfume factory visits are free of charge. There are several museums in the town including the Musée de la Marine (Navy Museum). NICE

25 min by train from Cannes is the capital of the French Riviera : Nice. Nice is nice. Nice itself is an attraction: the rich blue-green sea (Bay of the Angels), diverse shopping, splendid dining and lovely art-deco façades. But there are several spots that a tourist simply must see, such as the Cours Saleya Flower Market, the Matisse Museum, ancient Roman ruins, the Russion Cathedral and the Promenade des Anglais. 40 min. by train from Cannes is Monaco. Just a few kilometers from the Italian Riviera, Monaco is one of those magic glamorous places that has a world wide reputation. Monaco is a sovereign state, independent and prosperous. It has its own government and the head of the state is His Highness Prince Albert. Don’t miss the palace square and the changing of the guard at 11.55 a.m. Also of special interest: the cathedral, the old city, the oceanographic museum and aquarium, Monte Carlo Grand Prix circuit. saint-tropez

Jump aboard a boat from Cannes to the famous village of St Tropez. As you enjoy the crossing to St Tropez admire the Mediterranean coast from the sea. It’s a beautiful boat ride and a must-see while in the French Riviera! The ferry crossing is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes from Cannes. The entire day is yours to explore St Tropez. Discover the provincial markets every Tuesday and Saturday and browse through specialty shops. Also admire the port and the luxurious million-dollar yachts.
