Grasse is the perfume capital, not just of France, but the world. A 15-minute drive from Cannes, the town of Grasse is situated in the foothills of the Alps. Grasse is a medieval town, which boasts many quaint alleyways and ancient buildings. Here, some of the original perfume makers still operate from the same buildings they started in. All the perfume factory visits are free of charge. There are several museums in the town including the Musée de la Marine (Navy Museum). 25 min by train from Cannes is the capital of the French Riviera : Nice. Nice is nice.
